Job Summary:
SixAM Strategies is looking for individuals with experience in policy and communications to join our team as a Director. This position will work on multiple corporate accounts and serve as the media strategist within a larger team. Ideal candidates will have experience working in media relations and/or communications in an agency setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead corporate and advocacy work as the strategic client lead for various corporations, coalitions, and causes,
- Lead internal client teams on multistate advocacy and reputation campaigns, managing grassroots field teams across various markets,
- Develop and execute hyperlocal communications plans – including content development and media strategies,
- Contribute to new business development, including drafting client proposals and pitch decks.
- Manage junior team members, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Position Requirements:
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in an agency or in-house corporate communications or public affairs role.
- Deep understanding of the media landscape and how to strategically leverage digital, print, social, and broadcast channels.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive presentation skills, with an ability to translate policy and corporate issues into compelling narratives.
- Proven track record of managing complex multistate campaigns, grassroots field operations, and cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
- Highly organized and adaptable problem-solver with exceptional time management skills
- Capable of independently managing multiple campaigns simultaneously while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in business development, including writing client proposals, participating in pitches, and growing agency account revenue.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and media database platforms (such as Brandwatch, MuckRack, Cision, and TVEyes).
- Experience managing, mentoring, and developing junior staff.
