We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join a well-established manufacturing organization in the Menomonee Falls area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who thrives in a precision machining environment and enjoys programming, setup, troubleshooting, and running both new and repeat production jobs.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of CNC machining experience, strong programming capabilities, and the ability to work independently from detailed blueprints and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and edit accurate CNC programs in a timely manner.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment for complex machining operations.
- Run both new and repeat jobs efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Verify and troubleshoot CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, machine positions, speeds, and feeds.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, routings, and specifications.
- Install programs and perform test runs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct machining or programming issues.
- Recommend tooling, fixturing, and operational sequences for new or unique machining requirements.
- Adjust machines and controls to maintain precise tolerances and finish requirements.
- Support and provide guidance to less experienced machine operators as needed.
- Maintain safe work practices and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
- 5-7 years of CNC machining experience.
- Experience programming CNC machine tools and machining centers.
- Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming.
- Ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment.
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Ability to calculate and adjust feeds and speeds.
- Proficiency with metric conversions.
- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, algebra, and trigonometry.
- Accredited apprenticeship, technical training, or equivalent machine shop experience.
Preferred
- Experience with conversational controls/programming.
- Experience working with complex precision-machined components.
- Leadership or training experience within a machining environment.
