We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to fill a dual role as Inventory Manager and Veterinary Technician. This position is critical to both patient care and clinic operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people and animals, thrives in a team environment, is highly organized, strong with numbers, and takes pride in keeping systems running smoothly.
This is truly a job about caring for people as much as pets—you will communicate daily with clients and coworkers in person, by phone, and by email.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:50 AM – 5:00 PM and Friday 7:50 AM - 5:00 PM
Position type: Full-time preferred (part-time considered)
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Organize, restock, count, order, purchase, and reconcile medications and medical supplies
- Maintain accurate computer inventory logs and documentation
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excessive surplus
- Record daily deliveries and shipments
- Communicate promptly regarding backorders, substitutions, and alternatives
- Analyze usage data to forecast future needs and optimize inventory control procedures
- Use inventory management software to track demand and product details
- Evaluate suppliers to maintain cost-effective and reliable vendor relationships
- Develop and improve inventory control systems, terminology usage, and KPIs
- Report inventory status, trends, and issues to management
Veterinary Technician & Clinic Support
- Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, procedures, and surgeries (all species)
- Prepare patients and treatment areas before procedures and clean afterward
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records
- Check clients in and out and assist with client communication
- Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventative care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinic facility
- Assist with any additional tasks as needed—this is a true team environment
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull large dogs and livestock when needed
- Comfortable working in a hands-on medical environment (dirty, sweaty, and smelly at times)
- Commitment to safety and mandatory low-stress animal handling techniques
Skills & Qualifications
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong math, spelling, and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of general business principles and inventory terminology
- Excellent record-keeping and reporting abilities
- Self-motivated and able to self-manage time effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable using inventory management and medical record software
- Analytical mindset with forecasting and planning ability
- Reliable, trustworthy, and professional
- Veterinary technician experience or certification preferred
- Inventory management experience preferred
- Degree in business, logistics, veterinary technology, or related field is a plus
- CPIM or similar inventory certification is a plus
- Desire to continue learning and improving
