Sales Development Representative
Purpose of Position:
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will play a key role in growing our business by proactively identifying and reaching out to new client prospects. You’ll generate outbound leads, qualify opportunities, and secure initial interest from potential clients. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to start a career in event sales or business development.
Position Responsibilities:
General:
- Research and identify potential corporate, wedding, and private event clients, and new venues using various sources (event platforms, social media, networking lists, etc.)
- Initiate outbound contact via email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate qualified sales leads
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients for the sales team
- Set up introductory calls or meetings between leads and sales managers
- Track all outreach and engagement in Caterease, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams on lead generation campaigns and promotional outreach
- Follow up on cold and warm leads to drive continued interest and engagement
- Assist in preparing contracts and gathering required documents once a lead converts to an active client
- Attend events as needed to build client relationships
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly lead generation and outreach goals
Team Development:
- Stay current on industry trends and market developments, sharing insights with leadership and integrating them into business development strategies.
- Participate in professional development activities such as reading industry publications, networking, and engaging with relevant professional associations.
- Review and evaluate current client base to identify growth opportunities and support the sales team in expanding volume of business.
Department Collaboration:
- Assist the Director of Sales and sales team members throughout the sales process, including proposal writing, tastings, revisions, and site visits as needed.
- Attend company functions as needed, including “all-hands on deck” events.
- Enhance marketing efforts, community outreach, networking, government bids, possible new lines of work, and brand recognition in alignment with company goals.
Essential Qualifications and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience in sales, hospitality, or customer service.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the hospitality, events, or catering industry.
