Quality Control Lead Analyst
Silva is seeking a Quality Control Lead Analyst as the point of contact for testing raw materials, finished products, and other quality concerns. This position reports to the Senior Food Safety Manager.
Basic Functions:
- Data entry and tracking for products, auditing/review, and company policy and regulatory compliance with in-plant food safety and product quality programs.
- QC Analyst responsibilities as required
- Laboratory Maintenance and Cleaning
- Product analysis (allergens, moisture, size etc.)
- Lab Report Data Entry of raw material and finished goods in Deacom
- Plant Sampling Coordination and Scheduling (Micro, Inspection etc.)
- Irradiation services data entry (see plant sampling above)
- Production scheduling data entry for closed jobs
- Conduct audits of the food safety and quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment and finished product.
- Maintain Sample Retain System
- Point person for product holds for problems in plant
- Hold/Release in Inventory Management System
- Organize Shelf Life Studies
- Conduct proficiency testing for the quality control analyst team
- Assistance to the Senior Food Safety Manager regarding any special needs that may arise
- Back Up for other QA/QC Team members responsibilities
- Support & assistance to Technical Services as needed
- Cross trained with job functions and responsibilities for QC technician roles
- Perform other tasks which may not be reoccurring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science or a related field
- Prior experience in Food Manufacturing Environment.
- Ability to speak and write in English; Experience working with ERP systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Training and knowledge of HACCP, cGMP's, and GFSI
- Experience with MS Access, MS Excel, and MS Outlook preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.)
- Bending and stooping; Extended periods of being on your feet
- Occasional travel between facilities
- Standard manufacturing environment
- Standard office environment.
This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position (base pay range = $25.00-$30.00/hour; job offer to be commensurate with candidate experience) with benefits package that includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k retirement plan with employer match, employee assistance program, employer gift-matching program, wellness program, and company-paid holidays.
