Accounting Clerk

Position Title:                          Accounting Clerk

FLSA:                                      Non-Exempt

Reports to:                              Chief Financial Officer

Terms of Employment:           12-month employment (240 days) with benefits

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role.
• Experience in a school district is a plus.
• Experience with credit card programs and/or expense management systems is also a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices for payment.
• Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and compliance with district policies.
• Prepare and issue payments via checks, ACH transfers, or electronic funds transfers.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with 1099 preparation.
• Reconcile district purchase card transactions on a weekly basis by reviewing statements and matching them to receipts, invoices, and internal records.
• Collaborate with departments to obtain missing documentation or clarify transaction details.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all purchase card transactions and reconciliations.
• Scanning certain documents weekly and importing them into the accounting system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
