Position Summary
The NDT Level III serves as the technical authority for all Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) activities under FAA/EASA Part 145 approvals. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, oversees personnel qualifications, and provides guidance on inspection techniques, equipment, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage NDT Manual and procedures (NAS‑410 / EN‑4179).
- Approve techniques, setups, equipment, and calibration standards.
- Evaluate inspection results and support engineering/repairs.
- Ensure FAA/EASA compliance and support audits.
- Mentor and certify Level I & II inspectors.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability.
Scope of Methods
- Eddy Current (ET)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Magnetic Particle (MT)
- Liquid Penetrant (PT)
- Radiographic Testing (RT, if authorized)
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Extensive aircraft maintenance NDT experience.
- Certification: NDT Level III in at least one method (ET, UT, MT, PT)
- Certification per NAS‑410 or EN‑4179
- Knowledge: Aircraft structures, OEM manuals (AMM, SRM, CMM).
- Preferred: FAA A&P license, FAA/EASA audit support, experience on B737, B767, B777, A320 family.
