Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking a Space Operations subject matter expert with experience in Orbital Warfare (OW) for its customer site in Arlington, VA. Experience in the intelligence community will also be valuable. This position will support the process to assess the US Space Force (USSF) Field Commands in order to properly resource, train, and budget to ensure mission success. This position will be key in advancing the United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters, Chief Operations Officer, Space Force Assessments Directorate (SF/COO/A)
Responsibilities:
- Build processes, conduct unit surveys, identify and review existing data sources, and provide comprehensive assessment reports to the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) and Chief of Operations (COO) to guide and inform weight of effort and focus areas in the Space Mission Areas to include Orbital Warfare
- Advise and assist Space Staff and Field Commands in developing requirements for, acquiring, fielding, operating and sustaining OW-related and other space systems that achieve desired effects in support of USSF core operational functions
- Liaise with appropriate units associated with Orbital Warfare across operations, acquisitions, and sustainment in order to gain and maintain currency in the Orbital Warfare mission
- Use a sound understanding of space domain awareness and offensive/defensive space control to influence and develop assessment materials and criteria
- Support the development of new capability concepts, doctrine, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TT&Ps), and other non-materiel solutions for terrestrial, maritime, air, space, and cyber integration
- Coordinate and interact with associated counterparts ranging from political appointees to major command (MAJCOM) seniors on Space Operations and OW-related requirements (operations, intelligence, and associated support staffs) and take appropriate USSF HQ follow-on actions.
- Deliver responses to official tasking(s) with complete, concise, fully-coordinated and correctly-staffed products. Develops briefings on complex, technical topics related to space and OW capability development
- Formulate proposed Space Force position and/or guidance and prepares senior leaders for presentation /testimony /discussions in Congressional, Interagency, multinational, OSD, Joint, and inter/intra-Service forums
- Recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact the mission and/or organizational partners
- Monitor and incorporate USSF organizational strategy and leadership direction
Required Experience:
Required Skills:
- TS Clearance with SCI eligibility
- 10-15 years of experience in Space Operations with OW familiarity
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to produce concise products that clearly and logically convey complex information and ideas
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders in a high profile office
- Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems into manageable analytic tasks
- Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations
Required Education:
- Master's Degree mandatory plus 10 years of experience in an Operations, Cyber, Engineering, Scientific, Analysis, Policy or Planning field related to Space Defense
Preferred Skills:
- OW or offensive/defensive space staff/field experience
- Knowledge and familiarity with current Defense Department efforts in space
- Knowledge and familiarity with the intelligence community
- Familiarity with Task Management Tool (TMT) and/or or other HQ staffing tools
- Pentagon knowledge and understanding of Pentagon organizations
- Staff experience supporting DoD agencies within the past 3 years
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Master's degree in OW, Space Control, Space Intelligence, or a related field
- 20 years' experience supporting OSD, Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs
