Job Description: Sigmatech is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and detail-oriented Space Systems Engineering Intern to support modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts to join its dynamic team. This internship provides hands on experience in space systems engineering, with a focus on orbital modeling, simulation tools, and mission analysis in support of national security space training and education.
The intern will assist with evaluation and developing simulation scenarios, including satellite orbit modeling and rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), while supporting broader system engineering and analytical efforts aligned with NSSI mission objectives.

Responsibilities
- Support modeling and simulation of satellite orbits and mission scenarios using Systems Tool Kit (STK) or similar tools.
- Assist in developing and analyzing Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) scenarios.
- Conduct research and comparison of orbital simulation tools and capabilities.
- Analyze simulation outputs and assist in preparing technical summaries, reports, and briefings.
- Support systems engineering activities including documentation, data analysis, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering and training teams to support NSSI mission objectives.
- Assist with visualization and interpretation of orbital data and mission scenarios.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of physics, calculus, and engineering fundamentals.
- Exposure to CAD (SolidWorks or similar).
- Interest in orbital mechanics, space systems, or simulation tools.
- Familiarity with MATLAB or Python (coursework or introductory experience acceptable).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Proactive and detail oriented with a passion for learning new technology.
