What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician Quality Assurance CPG position at SIGMA-US?
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician performs testing of raw materials and finished products and provides technical quality support to production and management within the scope of their training level. This role helps ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality and food safety standards.
Essential Job Functions- Observe and obtain samples from running product to verify compliance with customer specifications
- Conduct quality tests and audits; maintain accurate records and logs of tests, audits, and other quality procedures
- Collect and report production and quality data to management on a daily shift basis
- Review and approve batch records, product files, quality control data, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for product release
- Review job orders and quality check sheets for accuracy and compliance
- Provide training to production employees on quality standards and procedures
- Document employee quality training records as required
- Assist manufacturing personnel with quality-related issues and problem resolution
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of quality assurance experience
- Cross-trained in one or more departments
- Trained in HACCP, SQF, and GMP
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Environmental / Working Conditions
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and first, second, and/or third shifts
- Ability to work in temperature conditions ranging from 35°F to 95°F, with occasional exposure above 95°F
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers in repetitive motions
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate verbally
- Must be able to lift a minimum of ten (10) pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles
