Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, including every other weekend

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract at a critical access hospital in Newport, Vermont. This position supports patients in the Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, and Telemetry units. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently, performing charge nurse duties, and floating to other units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to Medical-Surgical, PCU, and Telemetry patients.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
- Work independently and perform charge nurse duties when required.
- Float to other units, including the Emergency Department (ED) and Maternal and Child Health (MCH), based on staffing needs.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support safe, high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; license must meet the applicable requirements upon acceptance.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
- Experience in Medical-Surgical, PCU, or Telemetry nursing.
- Ability to work independently and perform charge nurse responsibilities.
- Willingness to float to other units as needed.
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays.
