What You Will Be Working On
- Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments, deposits, and cash receipts.
- Completing bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintaining the general ledger and supporting monthly and year-end close activities.
- Preparing payroll and maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Supporting monthly financial statements, management reporting, budgeting, and cash-flow monitoring.
- Assisting with grant accounting, allocations, reimbursements, draw requests, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinating employee onboarding, separations, benefits administration, leave tracking, and HR records.
- Serving as the first point of contact for routine employee questions concerning benefits, paid time off, and HR policies.
- Supporting office operations, vendor relationships, IT coordination, records management, and organizational insurance administration.
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
- An accounting professional with approximately three to five years of progressively responsible experience.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, GAAP, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
- Fund accounting, nonprofit accounting, grant accounting, or federal grant compliance experience is preferred but not required for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to learn.
- Exposure to payroll, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, or other HR support functions is strongly preferred.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable handling confidential financial and employee information.
- A resourceful self-starter who can work independently while collaborating closely with a small team.
- Someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and is willing to assist wherever needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Location/Logistics: Based in Carson City, Nevada, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least two days per week in the office; candidates must reside in Nevada and have reliable transportation for occasional in-state travel.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
