At Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock facility in Lexington, NC, we manufacture passenger coaches that move people and economies. Backed by 160 years of U.S. innovation in infrastructure and transportation, we’re transforming rail with digitalization and automation—and we’re looking for an NDT-Certified Weld Inspection Specialist to ensure our weld quality never compromises.
What you’ll do
- Execute visual CWI evaluations, dimensional checks, and mechanical inspections on welded and machined parts and assemblies in Carshell welding and BG manufacturing areas.
- Apply one or more non-destructive testing methods to validate weld acceptability.
- Verify work against the correct configuration revision, drawings, specs, and procedures.
- Perform first article inspections on parts, assemblies, equipment, and tooling; compile diagnostics and clear summary reports.
- Manage inspection data in MRP, noncompliance tracking tools, and the Configuration Management System.

Monday – Thursday, 5:30am – 4:00pm
What you’ll bring
- Current CWI certification or PT Level II (penetrant testing) certification; willingness to promptly obtain any missing credential.
- Comfort working with computer systems/databases and electronic inspection tools to input and retrieve information.
- Ability and willingness to travel to Sacramento, California for training—initially at least two weeks, with additional trips as required.
Physical requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and fine manual work; regular reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and effective verbal communication; occasional sitting.
- Lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly; occasionally 40 lbs or more.
- Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The base hourly rate range for this role in Lexington, NC is $30.00 – $44.65, plus an additional 10% shift differential. Actual pay may vary based on budget and your experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
