The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. The Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to join our Electrification and Automation (EA) and Protection and Automation (P&A) team. EA covers the full spectrum of power distribution systems and solutions, including protection technology, station automation, telecontrol, power quality, smart communication, and microgrids.

As a Project Manager, you will lead projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring successful execution in a dynamic, matrix-style organization. This role offers significant growth opportunities aligned with Siemens’ mission to foster a growth mindset. The position is hybrid, based in Wendell, NC, with an expectation of 2–3 days per week in the office.

You’ll make a difference by:

• Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
• Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s).
• Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status.
• Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
• Proactive Risk identification and Mitigation.
• Manage customer expectations across project cycle and lead single and multi-product medium voltage solutions projects.
• Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
• 3 years hands-on project management expertise including contract management and P&L responsibility
• Expertise with Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Project
• Valid US Driver’s License
• Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or training in mechanical or electrical engineering
• Experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios.
• PMP certification
• Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
• Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within project
• Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers
• Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customer
• Demonstrated ability in contract and change management.
