Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. You will play a vital role in managing store staff, inventory control, and maintaining a positive shopping environment for our customers.
Duties
- Assist in the management of daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise and train staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Handle employee orientation, recruitment, and interviewing processes
- Manage payroll and bookkeeping tasks to ensure accurate financial records
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising products
- Implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed store goals
- Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Conduct regular audits of inventory control systems and cash handling procedures
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on budgeting and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while promoting a safe work environment
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in retail math and inventory control practices
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering processes
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining organizational skills
- Experience in merchandising, marketing, and pricing strategies
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for enhancing customer interactions
