A Bar Manager oversees daily bar operations at fast paced high volume restaurant, including staff management, inventory control, marketing and menu conception, while focusing on maximizing profitability and delivering excellent customer service. Key duties include hiring and training staff, creating schedules, maintaining safety/sanitation standards, and managing sales.
- Manage daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and train staff in food preparation, beverage service, POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS, cash handling, and customer service excellence.
- Oversee inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
- Lead staff training & development initiatives to enhance skills in food handling, cocktail crafting, quick service techniques, and hospitality standards.
- Ensure consistent quality in food production and beverage presentation while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business.
- Collaborate with kitchen management on food service coordination for casual dining, fine dining, catering events, or banquets.
- Monitor shift performance through effective supervision of team members during busy hours to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Proven experience in restaurant or bar management with supervising responsibilities in a fast food or quick service environment.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards relevant to the food industry.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training & development, interviewing, and team management.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices along with budgeting skills to manage costs effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Experience working in casual dining or fine dining settings; hotel or catering experience is a plus.
