Registered Nurse

SHR Talent is partnering with a healthcare client in the Gainesville, Florida area in its search for a Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Unit (RN Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg). This opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment while caring for patients with cardiac, telemetry, and medical-surgical needs. The Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg RN will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care by assessing patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, monitoring telemetry, coordinating care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and educating patients and families throughout their hospitalization. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining a compassionate and patient-focused approach.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for nurses with at least one year of RN experience—including those coming from acute care, LTAC, home health, rehabilitation, or other direct patient care settings—to transition into a high-acuity cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical environment with strong opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical patients in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based nursing practices
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient condition promptly
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications and treatments, and evaluate patient responses to interventions while documenting care accurately within the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing disease management
• Respond quickly to patient needs while promoting exceptional patient satisfaction and maintaining a safe, compassionate care environment
• Maintain accurate documentation to support continuity of care and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
• Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and departmental goals while contributing to a collaborative nursing environment
• Participate in admissions, transfers, discharge planning, and patient throughput initiatives to promote efficient hospital operations

Qualifications:

• Degree

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• License(s) or Certification(s)

Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license required
Florida licensure must be obtained within 60 days of relocation for Compact license holders
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment start date

• Job Experience and/or Industry Experience

Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience required
Candidates with experience in acute care, LTAC, rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing, or other direct patient care settings are encouraged to apply
Previous cardiac telemetry or medical-surgical experience preferred but not required

• Software Skills

Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) and Microsoft Office applications preferred

• Other Skills

Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to interpret telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize care for multiple patients

Candidate Profile Highlights:
