Job Type: Part-time / Full-time (Two positions: Day Time, Night Time)
Job Overview:
We’re looking for a tech-savvy Live Stream Computer Operator to run the backend of our Whatnot live auctions. This role is not an on-camera host position. You’ll be behind the computer managing the live stream, supporting the host, communicating with chat, and handling post-show packing and fulfillment.
If you’re comfortable with OBS, fast-paced environments, and juggling multiple tools at once, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage live auctions on Whatnot via desktop
- Control OBS during live streams (scene switching, audio levels, stream stability)
- Monitor stream health and troubleshoot basic tech issues in real time
- Communicate with viewers through Whatnot live chat using Chrome desktop
- Relay key information between chat and on-camera host (bids, questions, issues)
- Manage timing, item sequencing, and auction flow during live shows
- Assist with setup and breakdown of streaming equipment before and after shows
- Handle packing, labeling, and packaging of sold items after live auctions
- Maintain organized workflow for orders and shipped items
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills on Mac and/or Windows
- Experience using OBS (or similar streaming software)
- Comfortable using Chrome-based web tools and live chat systems
- Able to multitask under pressure in a live environment
- Clear written communication skills
- Basic troubleshooting mindset (audio, video, browser issues)
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized
- Able to lift and pack products (light to moderate physical work)
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Experience with Whatnot, live selling, or livestream platforms
- Familiarity with audio interfaces, cameras, or streaming hardware
- Experience with e-commerce packing and shipping
- Basic understanding of internet bandwidth, latency, and streaming best practices

Compensation:
Hourly pay based on experience potential performance-based incentives
Schedule:
Flexible but must be available during scheduled live auction times (often evenings/weekends)

Pay: $22.50 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
