What you should know:
The Junior QA Analyst – Point of Sale (POS) is responsible for ensuring the functionality, reliability, and quality of our POS software and hardware solutions. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a passion for technology, and a desire to grow their skills in quality assurance.
The Junior QA Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute testing, document results, and support the deployment of POS system updates. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the performance and security of our POS systems to deliver a seamless experience to our stores.
What you will do:
Testing and Validation:
- Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of POS systems.
- Test POS software applications, hardware components, and integrations with other systems (e.g., inventory, payment processing.)
- Validate features such as transaction processing, data accuracy, and user interface behavior.
Defect Identification and Reporting:
- Identify, document, and report bugs or issues in the system using bug-tracking tools.
- Reproduce and troubleshoot issues to provide detailed insights for the development team.
- Collaborate with developers to verify fixes and ensure resolution of reported issues.
Test Case Creation and Execution:
- Develop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on requirements and specifications.
- Maintain test documentation and ensure it reflects current testing processes and requirements.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the development, product, and support teams to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Play a key role in effectively communicating upcoming changes and updates to the POS Support and Store Operations teams.
- Support the deployment and validation of new POS software releases or updates.
Performance and Security Testing:
- Assist in evaluating the performance of POS systems under various conditions.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, particularly related to payment processing and sensitive customer data.
Continuous Improvement:
- Provide feedback on user experience and potential areas of improvement for the POS system.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of QA processes and best practices.
Education and Certifications desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Basic understanding of POS systems, payment processing, or retail operations is a plus.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in using bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with QA automation tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar is a bonus.
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge for automated testing is a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
