Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine immediate needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients’ physiological responses using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner to ensure accurate documentation of care provided.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results such as ICD-10 coding for diagnoses.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), trauma medicine, cardiac catheterization recovery, or hospice & palliative medicine based on your experience.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching, medication administration, wound care (including suturing), nutrition, and disease management strategies like Alzheimer’s or dementia care.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration in the applicable state or country.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU (including Level I & II Trauma Centers), or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for medical documentation and patient records management.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in specialized settings such as assisted living or memory care is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform complex procedures including tube feeding management, catheterization (including Foley catheters), phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and ventilator management.
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively triage patient needs and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
