No carpentry experience is necessary. We're hiring for what you know today and for who you are on the job. The right candidate will have a positive attitude, take direction well, and bring genuine effort every single day. For candidates who prove to be a great fit, this role has a clear path toward a formal carpentry apprenticeship.
This position is available part-time on an as-needed basis or full-time. Full-time employees begin with a 6-month probationary period. Work is performed throughout the Shingle Springs area and surrounding communities within approximately 50 miles.
Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and crew leads with framing, finishing, and general carpentry tasks on residential and commercial job sites
- Transport, organize, and stage tools and materials at job sites
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas throughout the day and at job closeout
- Handle material cutting, measuring, and layout tasks as directed
- Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles and job sites
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment
- Communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, supervisors, and clients
- Learn carpentry techniques, tool use, and trade practices under the guidance of experienced carpenters

- Prior construction, labor, or trades experience is a plus, but not required
Compensation & employment details
- Starting pay: $20-25hr
- Raise schedule: Competitive, performance-based raises available
- Employment type: Part-time as-needed or full-time at-will
- Probationary period: 6 months for full-time positions
