Campground Manager – Sherwood Forest
Location: Sherwood Forest Campground
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience

Sherwood Forest is seeking a motivated, adaptable, and tech-savvy Campground Manager to oversee daily operations and lead a positive, guest-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting, enjoys problem-solving, and can quickly learn new systems and processes.
We’re looking for a strong leader who values teamwork, communicates effectively, and can balance operational oversight with hands-on involvement. Personality, initiative, and the ability to adapt quickly are just as important as prior experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day campground operations in alignment with Board policies
- Supervise, train, and support staff to foster a collaborative, high-performing team
- Promote a positive, respectful, and service-driven culture
- Respond to emergencies and ensure safe, efficient operations at all times
- Maintain regular communication with the Board of Directors
Technology & Systems
- Manage and maintain the campground’s POS system, inventory, and sales tracking
- Oversee website updates and utilize digital tools for communication and marketing
- Use technology to improve efficiency, reporting, and guest experience
- Quickly learn and adapt to new software, systems, and operational tools
Financial Oversight
- Assist in developing and managing the annual budget
- Monitor expenses, labor costs, and purchasing to stay within budget
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the Bookkeeper
- Support lien processing and financial compliance procedures
Customer Experience
- Ensure all guests and property owners receive excellent service
- Address questions, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally
- Provide onboarding and orientation for new owners
- Maintain a welcoming, community-focused environment
Compliance & Property Management
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular property inspections and enforce association rules
- Coordinate safety practices and maintain a secure environment
- Maintain proper licensing (e.g., Certified Pool Operator, Food Safety)
Retail & Food Operations
- Oversee campground store and kitchen operations
- Manage inventory, ordering, pricing, and sales performance
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food service standards
Staff Management
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Support employee development and maintain strong team engagement
- Handle disciplinary actions, documentation, and employee records
- Ensure proper timekeeping and internal processes are followed

Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in campground, property, retail, hospitality, or operations management
- Knowledge of budgeting and basic accounting practices
- Certifications such as Certified Pool Operator and Food Protection Manager, or willingness to obtain shortly after hire.
Requirements
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting (35 lbs., occasionally more)
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain and access all areas of the property
