SHERIDAN COUNTY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

Open Position: Senior buildings and grounds Worker, Full-Time, M-F 8am to 5pm, Hours may flex with snow removal
Rate of Pay: $46,723.09 to $49,088.44 DOE, Grade 14
Benefits: Wyoming Retirement System, Health Ins, Dental Ins, Eye Care, Life Ins, Paid Holidays, Annual Leave and Sick Leave.
Position description: This position supervises and participates in the maintenance of county buildings and grounds.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Snow removal
• Repairs plumbing systems.
• Unstop sewage and drain lines.
• Services air conditioning and heating units.
• Distribute janitorial supplies to county buildings.
• Mows lawns and trims weeds; shrubbery.
• Perform janitorial duties in assigned buildings; mops and vacuums floors; cleans restrooms; cleans windows; collects litter.
• Paint building interiors and exteriors.
• Maintains and repairs lawn equipment.
• Assist in the set-up for special events.
• Maintains and repairs sprinkler systems.
• Performs/documents daily functions on computer systems.
• Performs over related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of building and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and mechanical repair and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning and upkeep of buildings
• Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
• Skill in maintenance, repair, and operation of grounds maintenance equipment.
• Skill in oral and written communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience or service.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Wyoming for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
