Job Summary: Sheridan Community Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to our close-knit rural community. Our team values personalized care, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. We are seeking a caring, dependable Nutrition Services Cook and Aide. They will prepare and serve food to patients in the facility. Delivering food and ensuring good sanitary conditions in all aspects of the job
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking orders, preparing food & delivering trays.
- Ensuring patients are given the correct food allowed on diets.
- Taking temperatures on food and cooling units required.
- Following guidelines so that department is inspection ready at all times.
- Taking care of stock when needed following FIFO
- Discard leftovers, check for outdated food, and take out garbage.
- Making sure Sanitation is done as required.
- Participate in quality improvement projects. Attend training and meetings as required
- Maintains awareness of current quality and safety measures on the unit and follows guidelines or reporting measures to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Knowledge and skills in quality improvement and research methodologies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements:
- Checking hospital email at least once per work day since primary source of communication
- High School Diploma
- Food Safety Class (to be completed upon hire)
- Flu Vaccine (Nov 1st – June 1st ) Yearly
- Able to pass health/drug screening as required by federal guidelines for all healthcare workers (required)
