Catering Sales Manager

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving catering and event revenue for the hotel. In this role, you will actively prospect and qualify new catering business, manage existing accounts, produce and/or review contracts, respond to inquiries, and provide customized client proposals in line with departmental policies and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

You will play a key role in developing new and repeat catering business, while providing leadership in creating and executing strategies to maximize event bookings and revenue. Your specific duties in this role will include:

  • Working with the management team to develop and execute catering sales strategies.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of catering promotions and packages, both internal and external.
  • Achieving personal catering sales goals and setting a positive example for the team.
  • Recommending realistic booking goals based on market trends and property needs.
  • Conducting client calls and site visits to acquire new catering business and/or close on event opportunities.
  • Executing and supporting the operational aspects of booked business (e.g., generating proposals, drafting contracts, event detailing, and customer correspondence).
  • Analyzing market information and implementing strategies to achieve the property's financial catering and event goals.
  • Interacting with clients during the planning process and onsite events to obtain feedback and ensure satisfaction.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and acting as a key point of contact for catering clients.
  • Developing and managing relationships with internal departments (banquets, culinary, operations) to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Building strong external relationships with community partners, vendors, and local businesses to grow catering opportunities.

Requirements:

We are seeking a self-motivated Sales and Catering Manager with strong organizational skills, creativity, and a drive to exceed client expectations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to establish rapport and foster long-term client relationships.

Specific qualifications include:

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Restaurant Management, Event Planning, or related field (Bachelor's degree a plus).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in catering sales, event management &/or hotel sales
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability in lead generation, client negotiations, and closing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
