Duties

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely.
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items are hygienic and ready for use.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
• Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies with proper technique to prevent injury.
• Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning dish stations, sinks, and surrounding areas.
• Adhere to kitchen health and safety standards to promote a safe working environment for all staff.

Qualifications

• Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and sinks safely and effectively.
• Strong manual handling skills with the capacity for heavy lifting when necessary.
• Familiarity with basic kitchen tasks like food handling and cleaning procedures.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting the culinary team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
