- Performs technical HIM responsibilities regarding chart reconciliation of discharged records from all patient programs on a regular schedule with careful follow-up of any outstanding charts.
- Preps, Scan and Index all records according to protocol, to ensure a quality legal record available in SCM and ONBASE for end-users.
- Provides technical support to assure the quality of Sheppard Pratt medical records for compliance and legal record purposes
- Assists with facilitating HIM-hosted audits as well as providing support to other records-based audits initiated outside of the department with the oversight and leadership of the HIM Technician
- Assists HIM Technician in administrative matters as needed including support to have the department run smoothly
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of ONBASE and the Sunrise electronic medical record, and how the systems interact with our MPI (GE), regarding running reports, reconciling charts and other duties as assigned.
- Works with the HIM Technician on special projects as assigned, with oversight and leadership of the HIM Technician

What We Need From You
- AA degree in health information management or related field and/or at least one year of related HIM work experience. Must have strong computer skills. HIM/HIT background in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Analytical ability sufficient to receive and present information or ideas clearly, identify deficiencies and missing medical record content, and troubleshoot and resolve problems that end users encounter with the system.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with physicians, clients, and patients in order to provide support and resolutions to questions raised regarding finding information in the medical record.
- Attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and the ability to concentrate for long periods when reviewing and processing records into the ONBASE system.
