Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking an IP Litigation Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group.
This position can be based in any of the following offices: Del Mar, New York or Silicon Valley. There is only one opening.
The Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal will support patent litigation attorneys on cases from initial filing through trial and appeal. This position requires the ability to multitask, manage, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and high-quality work product is required.
The IP Litigation Paralegal must have extensive patent litigation experience managing large patent cases, experience with claim construction phase and experience with cases before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, patent cases filed in the U.S. District Courts in California, Texas, Delaware, Massachusetts, and other jurisdictions. This position requires experience and knowledge of appeal cases before the Federal Circuit and experience and knowledge with cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission, for Section 337 Investigations.
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, plus substantial and relevant work experience. A bachelor's degree or some college is preferred.
License and Certification
An ABA-approved paralegal certification is required.
Computer/Software Knowledge
Must have proficiency in Windows 10, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Zoom, and Teams, and experience working with a document management system. Must be able to quickly learn new skills and systems.
Work Environment
New York: The pay range for this position is: $55.00 - $82.00 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of IP Litigation Paralegal experience working in a law firm.
- Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of filing in P-TACTS, ECF Filing, USPTO Patent Center, and EDIS Filing.
- Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
- Possess excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.

- The current Firm policy is hybrid–working in the office a minimum of 3 days per week and working from home the rest of the week (subject to change).
- Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.
