Summary:

Focus on the development of the municipal water / wastewater business through direct sales and active management of existing manufacturers rep networks to provide nationwide coverage.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage existing manufacturers' representatives (partners) related to water / wastewater industry.
  • Establish productive professional relationships with key personnel in assigned partner accounts and assess, clarify and validate partner needs on an ongoing basis. Implement and drive adoption of company programs and policies with partners.
  • Lead solution development efforts that address end-user needs.
  • Lead a joint partner planning process establishing a strategy to increase quoting opportunities, leading to increased orders.
  • Provide and present customer quotations while working with our Sales Engineers to make sure those are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with inside marketing personnel for needed marketing materials and scheduling needs for tradeshows.
  • Recommend product enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Manage potential conflicts between partners by providing clear communication both internally and externally and enforcing compliance with rep agreements.
  • Work closely with company customer support staff to ensure problem resolution issues are completed in a timely and fair manner.
  • Establish new manufacturers reps, ensure partners are fully capable of selling and representing company products. Provide onboarding and ongoing support to meet sales objectives.
  • Qualify OEM accounts and applications within the water / wastewater industry. Provide the necessary support to facilitate their efforts in this industry.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree or combination of education; minimum 5 years' experience working with manufacturers reps in the water / wastewater industry.

Computer Skills:

Strong computer skills including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and ACT!

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret working drawings and specifications. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Skilled communications. Client management skills.

Mathematical / Analytical Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of basic electrical calculation, applicable codes and standards, rules and regulations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to determine alternate project scopes.
