Job Title: Offset Pressman
Sheboygan Paper Box Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Offset Pressman to join our Print Department. This is a skilled progressive role with structured training designed to develop the employee into an Lead Offset Pressman. In this role, you will learn to set up, troubleshoot, maintain, and assist in operating offset printing presses
according to factory specifications. You’ll work closely with experienced press operators while building the skills necessary to take on advanced responsibilities, including coverage for lead press positions when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and clean the feeder end of the press
- Complete daily housekeeping tasks and required documentation
- Perform lubrication procedures on printing equipment
- Ensure load cleanliness, including tracking POs and identifying damaged materials
- Assist with press setup and production runs
- Mix fountain solutions and support ink/water balance processes
- Hang plates on press cylinders and assist with registration adjustments
- Perform blanket washer cleaning, maintenance, and roller cloth replacement
- Assist with ink and water roller setup, removal, and replacement
- Support blanket replacement and proper packing procedures
- Assist with anilox roller, chamber, and blade removal, replacement, and setup
- Inspect printed materials for color accuracy, defects, and quality issues (in collaboration with the Lead Pressman)
- Communicate effectively with press crew members and actively learn machine operations
- Operate Power Industrial Vehicles (PIVs)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Training & Development
As part of your progression, you will develop skills in:
- Press maintenance procedures and troubleshooting
- Ink and water balance control
- Plate registration and setup
- Ink and coating selection per company specifications
- Roller setup and adjustments
- Plate preparation for upcoming jobs
What We’re Looking For
- Offset printing experience preferred; candidates with flexo, digital, or other printing experience will also be considered.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
