Sheboygan Paper Box Company is seeking a Gluer Operator Assistant to join our Finishing Department. This is a progressive role designed to build skills and experience within the Department. Employees will develop the knowledge and hands-on capabilities needed to advance into higher-level gluer and mechanic positions as opportunities become available.
Shift:
Monday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Consistent schedule with three-day weekends every week.
Compensation
- Starting pay begins at $22.75 per hour, with opportunities for wage progression in accordance with the applicable wage structure. Overtime is paid according to policy and is not included in the base hourly rate.
What You’ll Learn & Work With
You will train on a variety of carton styles and finishing operations, including:
- R.T.E. (Right Tuck End)
- S.T.E. (Straight Tuck End)
- Double Wall
- Seal End
- Auto Bottom
- Windowing
- Flat Pack
- Wrap & Band
Key Responsibilities
- Train to safely set up, operate, and maintain all Finishing Department machines
- Learn proper operational, safety, and maintenance procedures
- Assist with packing, feeding, and quality inspection processes
- Operate and train on equipment including:
- Domino 110
- Alpina folder gluer with Easy Feeder and Cartonpack II
- Masterfold folder gluer with Easy Feeder, Batch Inverter, and Cartonpack II
- HHS hot and cold melt gluing systems
- Heiber Schroeder window machine
- Perform line clearance procedures
- Identify carton styles, artwork locations, and paperboard grades
- Read and follow factory tickets and finishing instructions
- Enter time, production, and case consumption in Encore PDE
- Operate Power Industrial Vehicles (ride-on, walk-behind, and stand-up)
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and successfully complete written and hands-on assessments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial equipment
- Ability to read factory tickets, follow instructions, and communicate effectively
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, and percentages)
- Ability to apply common-sense problem solving in a production environment
