What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Systems Manager position at Sheaumann Laser, Inc.?
The Quality Systems Manager works cross-functionally to implement and maintain the quality strategy and the quality management system. The focus on quality culture and internal and external customer satisfaction is paramount, and the Quality Manager will serve as the management representative during Management Review, certification audits and customer audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be a motivated, hands-on leader to promote the importance of quality principles and empower employees to engage in the corrective actions and continuous efforts within the QMS.
- Continuously promote quality policy and provide guidance/best practices for complex problem solving.
- Manage the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).
- Supervise quality team and product quality control, from incoming inspection to finished goods.
- Spearhead corrective action and continuous improvement projects to mitigate risks and improve organizational health.
- Lead material review board activities for root cause analysis of non-conformities and authorizing their disposition.
- Pilot management review meetings, internal audits and external audits.
- Report KPIs and project status updates to leadership team with presentation of solutions and growth strategies.
- Manage export control compliance and communicate with relevant bodies when necessary to solve complex situations.
- Participate in customer discussions to resolve quality issues and/or champion customer-driven continuous improvement efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2-4 years related experience in quality management (ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Experience managing direct and indirect reports.
- Experience in laser export compliance (15 CFR, Category 6), laser safety (ANSI Z136), and labeling and performance standards (21 CFR 1040) preferred.
SKILLS
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven track record for communicating complex topics effectively.
- Ability to consume standards and regulations and communicate their impact to roles of various backgrounds.
- Strong presentation and training skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with all departments to ensure department goals are met and action items are completed on-schedule.
- Aptitude for use of computer programs, including Microsoft Excel and ERP databases.
- Experience with cleanroom environment and ability to conduct tasks in class 10,000 cleanroom attire (bouffant hat, frock, gloves, booties).
