Job Overview:The Activity Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the activity program. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a strong commitment to resident engagement. You will play a vital part in enhancing the social, cognitive, and recreational well-being of our residents, ensuring they enjoy meaningful experiences throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, fun, and enriching activities that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during activities, addressing safety concerns and eliminating hazards.
- Provide direct care and supervision to residents during activities, as needed, offering assistance to promote active participation.
- Collaborate with direct care staff to foster an inclusive, supportive, and socially engaging environment for residents.
- Plan and oversee daily activity schedules, ensuring programming is consistently carried out seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.
- Stay on call to address any programmatic needs, ensuring seamless activity execution at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve programming.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in activity planning, recreation therapy, or a related field preferred.
- Strong creativity, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be able to lift, assist, and engage residents as necessary.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and be on call as needed.
