Title: Medical Assistant
Location: La Jolla CA
Salary Range: $25-$35 per hour
Responsibilities:
As our Medical Assistant, your role will be divided between clinical and administrative responsibilities. In your clinical role, you will assist in the provision of care to our patients in our fast-paced practice. Duties will include performing or assisting with procedures such as vital signs, blood glucose testing, urine albumin tests, and retina scans. You will also be required to report and record critical test results, administer test substances, download CGM systems and insulin pumps, stock exam rooms, and input external lab/imaging results into our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system (Allscripts Touchworks or Epic).
On the administrative side, your responsibilities will include verifying insurance and authorization, updating patient demographics, routing information to our Electronic Health Records (EHR), and acting as a vital communication point for both our patients and referring practices.

Required Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with specific experience (endocrinology) being greatly encouraged
- Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred
- Familiarity with diabetes technology (pumps, CGM, downloads)
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, and EMR system (Epic)
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical practice, care, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
- Familiarity with medical equipment, instruments, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of medical office procedures
- Excellent communication skills
