Come join our thriving in-house therapy team! As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping older adults regain independence and improve their quality of life through specialized therapy techniques.
Responsibilities
Provides Occupational Therapy services to residents in a safe and effective manner.
2. Conduct screenings of residents newly admitted to the facility and referred by nursing to determine need for intervention/treatment.
3. Evaluates residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Conducts specialized evaluations as indicated. Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to residents, family, and other team members.
4. Establishes individual resident schedules in conjunction with other team members.
5. Develops treatment plans by identifying a problem list, including short and long term goals and methods to achieve identified goals. Provides treatment in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and productivity standards. Implements and conducts treatment as outlined in treatment plan, adapting treatment to meet the individual needs of the resident.
6. Monitors resident’s response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with physician orders.
7. Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the resident in their own environment.
8. Documents results of resident’s assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services.
9. Provides/recommends/fabricates adaptive devices, orthotics or prosthetics. Trains resident, family, and appropriate staff in the use or application of the above.
10. Participates in discharge planning.
11. Initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with Nightingale Healthcare procedures.
12. Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.
13. Supervises and directs COTA’s in the implementation of the treatment plan. Supervises students and volunteers as appropriate. Supervises Rehabilitation Aides when present.
14. Reviews the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual occupational therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria. Assists with and participates in Quality Assurance Program as required.
15. Integrates current best evidence and Nightingale Healthcare standards of care into patient management.
Skills
- Proficient in patient service with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Experience in critical care, geriatrics, skilled nursing, outpatient, speech therapy, acute care, early intervention, and case management is beneficial
- Strong knowledge of physiology and occupational health principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Pay: $48.00 - $62.00 per hour
