Position Summary
Sharon Care Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry Aide to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff while ensuring resident laundry and facility linens are processed accurately and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and other designated areas according to facility standards.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
- Maintain adequate supplies and report inventory needs to the supervisor.
- Follow infection control, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
- Properly handle and dispose of waste and hazardous materials.
- Respond promptly to housekeeping and laundry requests.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and staff.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a related setting preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to push and pull housekeeping and laundry carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
