Shapes Cabinets & Design is hiring a Cabinet Installer / Maker to support cabinet fabrication, assembly, and on-site installation. Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and prepare materials for cabinet fabrication.
- Build and assemble cabinet boxes, doors, drawers, shelves, and other components.
- Read and interpret cabinet drawings, layouts, measurements, and project specifications.
- Install kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, storage units, and custom cabinetry.
- Verify site measurements and confirm cabinet placement before installation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Level, align, secure, and adjust cabinets for a precise fit.
- Install hinges, drawer slides, handles, trim, and other cabinet hardware.
- Modify cabinet components when necessary to accommodate site conditions.
- Inspect completed installations for alignment, stability, appearance, and quality.
- Coordinate with designers, contractors, customers, and other installation team members.
- Protect surrounding surfaces and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Identify material shortages, design discrepancies, and installation issues and report them promptly.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cabinetmaking, woodworking, carpentry, or cabinet installation experience is an asset.
- Ability to read measurements, drawings, and installation plans.
- Basic knowledge of cabinet construction, hardware, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to troubleshoot fitting and alignment issues.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to lift and move cabinetry and materials safely.
Preferred Skills
- Experience installing kitchen, bathroom, and custom cabinets.
- Familiarity with wood, plywood, MDF, laminates, and cabinet finishes.
- Knowledge of leveling, fastening, scribing, trimming, and cabinet adjustments.
- Ability to work from custom designs and project specifications.
- Strong measuring, fabrication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating with contractors and remodeling teams.
- Good time management and commitment to quality workmanship.
