Key Responsibilities
- Measure, mark, cut, and prepare wood, plywood, panels, and other cabinet materials.
- Build bathroom cabinets, vanity units, drawers, doors, and shelving components.
- Read and interpret cabinet drawings, measurements, and project specifications.
- Operate woodworking tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assemble cabinet components using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, and joinery techniques.
- Install hinges, drawer slides, handles, and other cabinet hardware.
- Sand, trim, and prepare cabinet surfaces for finishing.
- Apply finishes or assist with finishing processes according to project requirements.
- Inspect completed cabinets for accurate dimensions, alignment, fit, and appearance.
- Identify material defects and correct fabrication issues when necessary.
- Maintain organized tools, materials, equipment, and workshop areas.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
- Coordinate with supervisors and installation teams regarding project requirements.
- Perform additional cabinetry and woodworking duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cabinetmaking, woodworking, carpentry, or millwork experience is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
- Ability to read measurements and follow technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Understanding of cabinet assembly and hardware installation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move materials safely.
Preferred Skills
- Experience building bathroom vanities and custom cabinetry.
- Familiarity with plywood, MDF, solid wood, laminates, and cabinet finishes.
- Knowledge of joinery, cabinet construction, and hardware installation.
- Experience using saws, drills, routers, sanders, and related machinery.
- Strong measuring, cutting, and assembly skills.
- Ability to identify defects and maintain quality standards.
- Good organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
