Role and Responsibilities
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector coordinates activities and enforces best-practices as it relates to the overall quality of our product and manufacturing process. The QC Inspector is responsible for receiving inspection of incoming materials, in-process inspections of product, and final inspection of outgoing customer shipments. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Visual receiving, in-process, and final inspection of product to ensure product conforms to work orders.
Developing and maintaining inspection reports including recording actual dimensional measurements using measuring tapes and/or diameter tapes and comparing to work order requirements.
Measuring male and female threads, including National Pipe Tapered (NPT) threads, using thread micrometers.
Recording and reporting non-conforming product to the Plant Manager for rework.
Developing, maintaining, and enforcing current quality control procedures.
Verifying completed orders conform to sales order requirements before final shipment preparation.
Identifying areas for quality control improvement and implementing new methods in coordination with the Plant Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum 3years’ experience required in a Quality Control field. Ductile and/or steel pipe industry experience is highly preferred.
High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is an advantage.
Proficient in using measuring hand tools including measuring tapes, diameter tapes, and thread micrometers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs including Word and Excel.
Ability to develop and maintain records in an organized and efficient manner.
Ability to work well with individuals in multiple departments and be detail oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and regard for quality standards.
Ductile or steel pipe knowledge is an advantage.
Additional Notes
Pre-employment drug testing shall be required.
All applicants shall be authorized to work in the U.S.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
After 30 days of employment, employee is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, vision, sick pay, vacation accruals, and 401(k).
Salary : $18 - $20
