Description:
Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute (LTS) Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to join the team at Shakopee High School. The assignment will begin as soon as possible through June 5, 2026.
Job Summary:
Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting and\or co-taught classroom, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessionals(s). Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, work collaboratively with other staff members.
