SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,
Position Summary
Provide mobility interventions to patients under the guidance of a licensed therapist (PT, OT, PTA, COTA, and/or SLP). Provide care with the goal of improving/maintaining patient mobility to decrease deconditioning, risk of falls, pressure ulcers, extremity contracture and length of stay.Monitor physiological changes and patient responses to exercise and mobility
Works primarily in hospital setting. Requires considerable standing, mental effort, walking, bending, stooping, lifting (excess of fifty [50] pounds), and pushing objects (wheelchairs, and beds). Schedules may include working weekends and/or holidays. May be subjected to high levels of stress. Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids on a daily basis, including infectious diseases. Uses medical equipment, computer, telecommunication devices and patient information systems.

Position Summary

- Complete daily notes and charges within computer system. Cover as a rehab tech based on staffing needs and per manager/director discretion o See Rehab Tech II job description. Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. Maintains atmosphere, which ensures SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently supported and enforced. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Two years of Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Basic knowledge of oxygenation and blood pressure monitoring
- High School graduate or GED, preferred
- Experience in working with adult and geriatric population with physical disabilities is desired
- Demonstrates competency with safe patient handling, use of specialized equipment and proper body mechanics
- Ability to work well individually and as a team member
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new situations, manage priorities and utilize problem-solving techniques
- Ability to read and interpret policies, standards, and think critically
- Ability to operate clinical equipment, computer and telecommunication devices
- Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for a diverse population of patients/family units of all ages and cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behaviors
- CPR Certification required
