Position: Maintenance Crew Member
Reports to: Landscape Crew Leader, Installation or Sr Landscape Crew Leader, Installation
Classification: Full-Time Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Core Profile: The Installation Technician I performs hands-on landscape enhancement, installation, and project tasks under the supervision of an Installation Crew Leader. This role supports the successful completion of projects by executing assigned duties with quality, safety, and efficiency, while contributing to overall team performance and customer satisfaction.

- Hands-On Execution: Performs a variety of physical landscaping tasks including planting, pruning, mulching, irrigation installation, hardscape setup, and general site maintenance.

Accountabilities
- Task Execution and Crew Support: Perform assigned landscape enhancement, installation, and maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mulching, sod installation, irrigation, and hardscape assembly; Follow daily instructions from the Project Foreman or Senior Project Foreman to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately; Assist crew members with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and correctly, adhering to company and manufacturer guidelines; Report any equipment issues or malfunctions promptly to supervisors.
- Job Site Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout the workday; Comply with all company safety policies and procedures; participate in daily safety meetings and training.
- Communication and Customer Service: Maintain effective communication with crew members and supervisors regarding project status and concerns; Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with clients on site.
- Quality and Efficiency: Ensure all assigned work meets quality standards and is completed within expected timeframes; Actively seek to improve work processes and contribute to team productivity.

Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience: Prior experience in landscaping or related outdoor labor preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided
- Licensing/Certification: Valid state driver's license is preferred; equipment certifications a plus but not required
- Skills:
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively under supervision
- Basic knowledge of plants, turf, and landscape materials preferred
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions and Availability Disclosure:
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, as well as regular use of hands and arms to perform manual labor and operate landscaping equipment. Employees must be able to lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier lifting being team-assisted or reasonably accommodated. The role involves the operation of various landscaping tools and equipment such as trimmers, blowers, mowers, and shovels. It also requires sufficient visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to safely perform detailed tasks and operate machinery. Additionally, the position may occasionally involve climbing or working at heights, including on ladders, slopes, or uneven terrain.
- Work is regularly performed outdoors and exposes the employee to a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and sun. There is potential exposure to noise, dust, pollen, and various plant and chemical materials commonly used in landscaping. The job may require working on uneven terrain, near traffic, or within active construction zones. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and boots, is required to ensure safety on the job
