What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Sewer Equipment?
Sewer Equipment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the company's management.

Responsibilities:
- Intercompany accounting
- General ledger maintenance
- Monthly and Quarterly ledger closings
- Annual budget preparation and monthly variance analysis
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and property tax filings
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Create and update monthly Plant Book reports for upper management to support business decision-making
- Ad hoc reporting
- Assist with financial, bank, tax, and generally liability audits
- Cross train with Controller and Director of Finance functions
- Train, mentor, and help other accounting functions such as accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Aid in the preparation of internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system
- Reconcile all asset and liability accounts monthly/quarterly/annually
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Essential Functions:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education and Experience Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
