Key Responsibilities of the Registered Dietitian
- Assess patients' nutritional needs based on medical conditions, dietary requirements, and clinical information
- Develop individualised nutrition care plans based on patient needs and treatment goals
- Provide nutritional counselling and education to patients, families, and caregivers
- Monitor patients' nutritional status and make recommendations based on changes in their condition
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide evidence-based recommendations regarding therapeutic diets and nutritional interventions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nutritional assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient progress
- Educate patients on appropriate dietary choices and strategies to support their health and recovery
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to patient care planning
- Follow facility policies, clinical standards, infection control procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
Requirements of the Registered Dietitian Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current Dietitian License
- Minimum 1 year of professional Registered Dietitian experience
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, nutritional assessment, and therapeutic diets
- Excellent communication, organisational, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nutritional care
