Key Responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist
- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for radiographic procedures
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by physicians and radiologists
- Verify patient information, examination requests, and relevant clinical history before procedures
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide reassurance throughout examinations
- Follow radiation safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment
- Monitor patients during examinations and respond appropriately to any concerns
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and departmental quality standards
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team
Requirements of the Radiologic Technologist Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Radiologic Technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, positioning techniques, and radiation safety
- Excellent technical, communication, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
