Key Responsibilities of the Cath Lab Tech
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Prepare and maintain catheterization laboratory equipment and sterile fields
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Operate imaging and monitoring equipment safely and accurately
- Ensure all instruments and supplies are available and functioning correctly
- Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, and clinical best practice guidelines
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care
Requirements of the Cath Lab Tech Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab Tech experience
- Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and cardiovascular imaging
- Excellent technical, communication, and patient care skills
