Director of Sales – Residential Services (PE-Backed, Multi-Branch)
Location: Charlotte, NC (strong preference, with relocation support)
I’m partnering with a private equity–backed residential services platform on a key hire: a Director of Sales to take full ownership of a multi-branch outside sales engine and uplift inside sales performance across 10 branches in the Southeast and Texas.
This is not about sitting in HQ designing slide decks. It’s a field-led role for someone who wants to be in branches, with managers and reps, building a high-performance sales culture in a recurring revenue, residential service model.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and run the outside sales business (excluding door-to-door), while supporting and sharpening inside sales.
- Build and refine programs, incentives and daily sales disciplines that drive activity and conversion, not just theory.
- Be highly visible in the field: in branches coaching managers, riding with reps, and showing what “good” looks like.
- Develop regional sales leaders and branch managers, raising capability and consistency across 10 branches.
- Drive cultural change in sales: accountability, energy, and a clear, repeatable way of selling in a branch-based model.
- Partner closely with the COO in a PE-backed environment where pace, performance, and impact all matter.
What we’re looking for
- Regional / multi-site sales leadership experience in a branch-based, customer-facing service business (home services, field services, residential or similar).
- A track record of improving or rebuilding a sales engine: programs, process, incentives and culture, not just hitting an individual number.
- Comfortable spending at least 2 weeks per month in the field, with managers and reps, rather than running sales from behind a desk.
- Strong “salesy” leadership: understands the daily disciplines that move the needle and can get others to buy into them.
- Experience in a growth or PE-backed setting is a plus, but not essential if you’ve scaled sales across multiple locations.
The role
- Title: Director of Sales
- Base salary: 160,000–180,000 USD
- Bonus: 15–20%
- Equity: Director-level allocation with mid–six figure potential at exit
- Reports to: COO
