Position Summary

“Sev Rend” Corporation is a leading manufacturer of flexible retail packaging and sustainable materials. We are seeking to fill a Printing Press Plate Mounter position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, mounting, and aligning printing plates on press cylinders or sleeves to ensure accurate image placement and high-quality print production. This role supports efficient press operations by verifying plate accuracy, maintaining proper registration, and following production specifications and safety standards. This position typically works in a manufacturing or printing production environment and may involve exposure to inks, solvents, machinery noise, and moving mechanical parts. Proper personal protective equipment may be required.

Requirements

• Mount printing plates onto cylinders, sleeves, or other press components according to job specifications.
• Check plate alignment, registration, and positioning to ensure print accuracy
• Inspect plates for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before mounting.
• Read and interpret job tickets, production orders, and artwork instructions.
• Prepare mounting materials, tapes, and tools required for each press run.
• Maintain proper plate identification, storage, and handling procedures.
• Work closely with press operators, prepress staff, and supervisors to resolve setup issues.
• Clean and maintain mounting equipment and work area.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting print quality issues related to plate mounting or registration.
• Assist with bringing stock for the press runs when machine is running low on material using a forklift.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in printing, flexographic printing, prepress, or plate mounting preferred.
• Ability to read work orders and production specifications accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of flexographic or gravure printing processes
• Familiarity with mounting machines, press cylinders, and registration systems
• Understanding of print quality standards and color alignment
• Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move plates, cylinders, or materials as needed
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and mounting components
• Ability to work around production equipment safely
