The State of Michigan is looking for: Radio Engineer

Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week.

Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule)
Duration: This is a long-term ongoing project. The current end-date reflects end of the fiscal year for the State of Michigan; the contract is expected to be renewed yearly.
Top Skills & Years of Experience:
This position is the recognized resource responsible for the development of radio
programming files for distribution and installation into Michigan Public Safety
Communications System (MPSCS) radios for the State of Michigan. The position is
responsible to identify existing and request new Radio IDs, Talkgroups and Encryption
for use in developing and building the templates installed into an MPSCS radio.
This position requires the extensive use of computer skills and this person must be able
to accurately enter data into the radio programming files and associated asset
management software (EAM) and databases.
This person must function with minimal supervision and require minimal direction while
performing these duties.
Requirements:
Three years of experience as a Radio/Communications Technician
Two years of experience with P25 Radio Programming (Motorola & Kenwood)
Desired Experience:
Military/Public Safety/Radio Communications (not Network)
Two-way radio experience
Previous P25 encryption experience/KMF (AES)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Duties may involve use of personal vehicle
FCC General Radio Telephone License, APCO Certificate, or approved
equivalent
