What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor (1001) position at ServingSchools?
Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor
Sanford Regional Technical Center (SRTC)
Can you build the future and teach others to do the same? SRTC is looking for you.
About The Role
At Sanford Regional Technical Center, we don't just teach skills—we launch careers. As our Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor, you'll lead a two-year, hands-on program where students master the same tools and technologies used by working engineers and designers right here in Southern Maine.
From 3D printing and computer-aided design to virtual reality modeling and additive manufacturing, your students won't just study industry—they'll practice it, day one.
What You'll Do
Year One: Build the Foundation
You'll immerse first-year students in transformative, project-based learning inside our state-of-the-art facility. They'll master 2D and 3D computer design using professional-grade software, develop real blueprints, operate 3D printers, and build a working command of core engineering and architectural principles. You'll forge partnerships with local firms, studios, and manufacturers—bringing the outside world into your classroom and sending your students into it.
Year Two: Raise the Bar
Second-year students tackle advanced design challenges alongside industry professionals and earn internationally recognized certifications—SolidWorks Professional, Revit Architecture, and Additive Manufacturing. Under your guidance, they'll develop sophisticated technical skills, manage complex projects from concept to completion, and graduate with a portfolio, a certification, and the confidence to compete.
Every Day: Inspire
You'll create a safe, energizing learning environment where curiosity is rewarded and ambition is expected. You'll collaborate across SRTC's 25 programs to unlock interdisciplinary opportunities and bring real-world projects into your classroom. When your students graduate, they'll be ready to join established firms, launch their own businesses, or pursue advanced education—on their terms.
